Join us for a companion event to Gingold Theatrical Group's production of George Bernard Shaw's The Devil's Discipline, staged in New York City for the first time in sixteen years. The play will be performed until November 23rd, at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street (Between 9th and 10th Avenues).
Shaw's spectacularly entertaining play embraces actual 1777 events during the American Revolution. Although he wrote the play as a thinly veiled call for a Free Ireland, which accounts for it being banned in Britain for years, it features a colorful group of characters doing everything they can to stand up for what they truly believe.
Director David Staller, Dr. Elizabeth Stack, and members of the cast will discuss Shaw, Ireland, the role of women, and fighting for democracy as part of a Scintillating Shaw Party to celebrate this fantastic production.
